Erik Smith, L.Ac, Dipl. OM, DNBAO, MSN
Cofounder, Acupuncturist, Herbalist and Nutritionist
Erik Smith holds a masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Five Branches University and a masters degree in Clinical Nutrition from Bastyr University. He is licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine by the California Acupuncture Board and the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Erik holds specialty certifications in Sports Medicine Acupuncture and Qi Gong Instruction, and completed an externship in Orthopedics with Zhejiang College of TCM in Hongzhou, China. Erik is Board Certified in Acupuncture Orthopedics, placing him among only 1% of acupuncturists holding this level of training in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Erik is our pain specialist and is known for his quick results with acute injuries and chronic pain. He draws from multiple traditions and has the unique ability to melt tight muscles with acupuncture alone. Erik is also our nutrition specialist, holding a deep knowledge of the therapeutic nature of whole foods and dietary supplements. He enjoys spreading his nutritional knowledge and has taught health professionals on both coasts how to integrate therapeutic nutrition into their practices. Erik is an avid athlete and has competed locally and nationally in a variety of sports.

Stacy Smith, L.Ac, Dipl. OM
Cofounder, Acupuncture and Herbalist
Stacy Smith holds a masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Five Branches University. She is licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine by the California Acupuncture Board and the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Stacy completed an externship in Gynecology at Zhejiang College of TCM in Hongzhou, China and holds a specialty certification in Chi Nei Tsang, a type of visceral massage used to support fertility. She is also well-versed in Children's Tuina Massage, a type of Chinese massage that is used to treat a multitude of childhood ailments. Stacy is our women's health specialist and is known for her exceptional listening skills, warm nature and painless needle technique. Stacy will soon be a certified Feng Shui practitioner and enjoys helping people to improve their health and prosperity with this time honored technique.

R. Craig Rigsby, L.Ac. L.M.T.
Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Craig Rigsby is a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist and 3rd degree Reiki practitioner. He earned his Masters Degree at the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine and completed his undergraduate work at UC Santa Barbara. Craig studied massage therapy at the Body Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara and has been a massage therapist for the past 13 years. In addition to acupuncture and massage, Craig has also been practicing Reiki (an energy healing modality originating in Japan) for 9 years and completed his Reiki Master training in Thailand in 2003. Incorporating energy healing into his acupuncture practice, Craig creates a powerful synergy that is of profound benefit to his patients. He has been studying yoga and meditation for the past 10 years and also enjoys playing music, practicing Qi gong and spending time in nature with his wife and daughter.

Hyun Ku Lee, Ph.D., L.Ac
Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Dr. Lee comes from a long family line of oriental medical doctors dating back many centuries in Korea. He was interested in oriental medicine and herbs from a very early age, and as a child would often help his father and grandfather in the clinic. After completing his University studies and Military Service in Korea, Dr. Lee has devoted his life to the study acupuncture and oriental medicine. Dr. Lee holds a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from South Baylo University, a Ph.D in Oriental Medicine from American Liberty University, and will soon complete his Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from South Baylo University. He is licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine by the California Acupuncture Board and the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is also certified in Energy Medicine , Hypnotherapy and Feng Shui. Dr. Lee specializes in Korean Constitutional Medicine and Acupuncture and is the only practitioner of this approach between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Among his peers, Dr. Lee is known as a master, who obtains extraordinary results in treating the most difficult cases. In his spare time, he writes a bi-weekly column for the Santa Ynez Valley News. He also enjoys riding his three show horses and walking his dogs.

Johanna Anderson, L.Ac
Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Johanna Anderson holds a masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine and is licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine by the California Acupuncture Board. Johanna is our cosmetic and geriatric specialist with a practice emphasis on facial rejuvenation acupuncture and healthy aging. She is certified in both the Mei Zen and Mary Elizabeth Wakefield styles of facial acupuncture. These two styles are the preeminent in the field and she has achieved advanced certification. Johanna's approach to health is to provide a soothing, nurturing environment with gentle treatments that calm the body and mind, promote healing, and enhance well being and vitality.

Marla Van Stein, LMT
Massage Therapist
Marla Van Stein has been practicing massage for 16 years. She has completed extensive training in a variety of massage styles, including swedish, deep tissue, reflexology and lymphatic drainage. Marla holds a specialty certification in prenatal and postnatal massage, and teaches infant massage to new mothers. Marla enjoys working with people of all ages to integrate and balance the body mind and spirit. Marla lives in Carpinteria with her husband and two children.
